![]() ![]() ![]() Breakfast had a leaning towards British clients with fried food in all forms. The hotel is in the town and can also be quickly accessed by a path next to the pool. The much talked about tunnel was also no problem to us, golf buggies take you up and down if you can't or don't want to walk. Empty fridge for storing your own drinks. ![]() The rooms are fine, good beds and an adequate bathroom. Others have bitterly complained about this but the front of the hotel overlooks the pool and outdoor seating area and was also pretty noisy in the evenings.A huge family visiting made a hell of a racket as the alcohol levels increased. The front of the hotel looks out over the bay and Vesuvius, but the backs faces a cliff which is only a couple metres away from the balconies. In 2016, Villa Cora becomes part of The Leading Hotels of the World, an international collection of luxury independent hotels.We spent a week here, this hotel is fine apart from one aspect - the noise levels! The floors are tiled and there seems to be no insulation of ceilings and walls so you hear and can almost join in with all your neighbours conversations! Doors banging etc.etc. Villa Cora became an exclusive grand hotel at the end of 1960 and reopened in late 2010 after a detailed three-year restoration. In addition, it has always been considered the most beautiful residence of the Tuscan capital. Villa Cora earned its reputation by hosting international guests of great importance, such as Princess Eugenia, wife of Napoleon III, and the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. Villa Cora, inaugurated when Florence was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy, has become throughout the years one of the major cultural and cosmopolitan symbols of Florence. It is dominated by a strong eclectic decor that provides the villa with different, sometimes even bizarre, artistic styles. The villa is an aristocratic residence built at the end of the XIX century upon commission by Baron Oppenheim reflecting the architectural styles of that period. Villa Cora is located in a centuries-old park that overlooks the Boboli Gardens, on the hills just outside the historical center of Florence. ![]()
